Dear Arbury Hills Families and Friends,\r\n
Hello and welcome to Arbury Hills Elementary School! As the Principal of Arbury Hills, it is an honor to have the opportunity to serve such an outstanding school-community. It is my desire to work with you, your child, and the staff to continue to foster a strong sense of community in order to increase student achievement.\r\n
Arbury Hills provides a quality education to approximately 230 students in first through fourth grades. Our teachers are highly qualified and strive to meet the needs of all learners through differentiation of instruction. We also have excellent support staff that work in different capacities to support your child's learning and educational experience. We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this year. It is our goal to create an enriching learning environment that engages each student. Of course, you are the first teachers in your child's life and we need your support and cooperation. It is truly a partnership! Please encourage your child to complete the following each night:\r\n
Please take time to review the Student / Parent Handbook with your child. This will serve as a guide and reference throughout the school year. Positive behavior expectations are enforced at Arbury Hills through our PBIS program. Our expectations fit into three categories: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Please discuss positive behavior expectations with your child. This can be completed by sharing play-by-play scenarios that involve a problem situation and discussion of possible solutions.\r\n
I truly believe strong partnerships between parents and staff lead to academic success for all students. Therefore, I invite you to visit our school and actively participate in your child's education. This participation may come in a variety of forms including: joining S.T.A.R.S, working as a volunteer at the school, checking your child's homework and agenda on a daily basis, attending school-wide events, and communicating questions or concerns to me and the teachers.\r\n
Again, I am delighted to be a member of this wonderful community. It is my desire to continue the tradition of excellence at Arbury Hills!\r\n
On behalf of the entire staff, I thank you for your support and cooperation! Also, many thanks to all of our school volunteers for all they do! We look forward to teaching your children and have only the highest expectations for their performance.\r\n
Respectfully,
Mr. John Snipes
Principal
